Enhancing Your Work with Research

General Rules for Finding & Evaluating Information Online

02:00 PM at Sector67 (Length: 1hr)

Learn from a Librarian. Quality information abounds online if you know where to look. Enjoy a brief introduction to free (with public library card) online magazine and journal databases and a variety of government information sources. We’ll discuss how to evaluate Web sites you may run across, and how to zoom in on authoritative sources quickly. If you need to use research to support your business plan, grant applications, white papers, marketing strategies, or even just research papers, this is the workshop for you.

Attendees: If you have specific questions or interest areas, feel free to send them along ahead of time: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Terry Ross is a former staff librarian and current instructor at Madison College. Among other sustainability-oriented projects, she administers the Commute Card program for Sustainable Atwood. Terry would be lost without her databases.
